Â
This isnât theory. Itâs reps.
Â
You donât just sit listening at Bootcamp.
You actively work through behavioural exercises, audience challenges and practical real-world scenarios in real time. We lovingly call them the Brain Gamesâ˘ď¸.
Designed for people working across public health, health inequalities, engagement, services, strategy and transformation who need to better understand the humans behind the work. Because modern public-sector work has become increasingly complex.
Teams are being asked to:
- improve uptake
- reduce inequalities
- build trust
- engage underserved groups
- support transformation
- prove impact
and make better decisions with limited time, resource and insightÂ
Bootcamp is designed to help you think more clearly inside that complexity.
Â
âď¸ Cut through behavioural jargon and better understand how human behaviour, trust, assumptions, systems and lived experience shape real-world outcomes especially for your hard to reach audiences. These audiences are not an add on. They are central to behaviour change.
Â
âď¸Â Build practical behavioural thinking skills you can apply immediately across engagement, services, communication, strategy and operational work.
Â
âď¸ Learn how to stop human insight getting lost between strategy, communication and delivery - so the hidden voices of your 'hard to reach' audiences stay connected to real-world decisions and action.Â

The Behaviour Change GamesÂ
Brand New Format - The Brain Gamesâ˘ď¸
Similar to our popular Murder Mystery Games you will be learn through highly interactive behavioural exercises designed to help your brain join the dots in real time because behaviour change learning should actually use behavioural science too.
(Restricted to 10 people to ensure quality learning - expect to have fun, actually enjoy on the job training and join the dots.)
Â
Â
đ§ BRAIN GAMES 1 - UNCOVER HIDDEN BARRIERS
Dig beneath the surface to reveal what's really stopping people
Learn what behaviour change actually is and isn't - and why frameworks alone are not enoughÂ
Learn how behavioural frameworks including COM-B, EAST and other models fit together and the missing ingredient often overlooked when organisations try to influence action, engagement and decision-making.
Why this matters
So many people tell us they are still not really sure what behaviour change actually is - but felt embarrassed to ask.
What is a behaviour change campaign anyway?
How is it different from PR, advertising, internal comms, social marketing, or broader transformation work?
And where does it fit within commissioning and service design?
You may just be surprised - because what is stopping people is often not what we think!
Â
â¤ď¸Â BRAIN GAME 2 - HEAR HIDDEN VOICESÂ
Understand the lived experiences and motivations that data can't show.Â
How behaviour change can help you reach and make a positive impact with your hard to reach audiences
Includes  empathy mapping to better understand people systems struggle to reachÂ
Our Empathy Mapping approach is built on years of behavioural insight and facilitation experience. You will learn practical tools you can take back and use immediately.
Why this matters
As there are only 10 spots we will ask you to bring your audience with you and connect with you beforehand. It doesn't matter who it is - because some hard to reach are not the most vulnerable or even patients they are the busy people that are completely disengaged from your offer. But sometimes they are the highly vulnerable whose voices are being shouted down by a busy system. This game will give you the skills and confidence to capture their voices.Â
Â
Â
đŻ BRAIN GAME 3 - INTELLIGENCE TO INSIGHT TO DESIGN BETTER CHANGE
How to stop human insight getting lost between strategy, communication and delivery AND communicate it!
Learn how to keep human understanding and behavioural insight connected to services, communication, engagement, strategy and operational delivery - so insight remains the golden thread running through the work. How to shift from intelligence to insight.Â
Why this matters
This really is the secret sauce.
If you manage stakeholders, lead teams, or need to sell ideas into clients and organisations, your behavioural insight has to actually get used. And that means being able to clearly communicate behaviour change â strategically.
Sorry, but dropping a COM-B table into the front of a presentation does not count.
If you are unsure how to apply behaviour change in your planning, you will struggle to measure your work. And if you cannot measure it, you cannot demonstrate impact.

Meet Your Bootcamp Lead
Ruth Dale is Founder of Hidden Voices Heard - a behavioural insights consultancy helping organisations better understand the people systems often struggle to reach.
For over 20 years, Ruth has worked across public health, behaviour change and communication - supporting NHS organisations, local authorities and national campaigns on complex challenges including smoking, vaccinations, obesity and mental health.
Her work combines behavioural science, lived experience and audience insight to help organisations move beyond awareness-led approaches and better understand how people actually think, feel and behave in the real world.
Through Hidden Voices Heard and the BrainFuel podcast, Ruth has helped thousands of public health professionals, communicators and service leads better understand behaviour change in practice.
Bootcamp is built around the same behavioural thinking, empathy mapping and insight approaches used every day in Hidden Voices Heard projects across the UK.
